Jollyes Warrington

In another article looking at some of the pet shops we have in the Manchester area I thought I would take a look at Jollyes Warrington which opened in 2023. It seems Jollyes has been opening up a number of new branches in the UK, in an effort to be a more direct competitor to Pets At Home. Please note that we are a local pet services provider and have no connection to Jollyes. If you have any questions about the store please contact them directly, I will link to their website later in this article.

Jollyes Warrington Opening Times, Location & Contact Details

The comparison between Jollyes and Pets At Home is a pretty obvious one for a number of reasons. Both have branches that tend to be located on retail parks away from the town centre. These branches are usually open 7 days a week, have large floorplans with ample stock and offer free parking. They also both seem to have other pet services within their branches whether that’s vet services and in some cases a pet grooming service. In the case of Jollyes Warrington they do have vet services, known as the Community Pet Clinic. It should be noted that the vet services often have different opening hours to the actual shop.

The opening hours for this store are as follows:

Monday – Saturday 9AM – 6PM
Sunday 10AM – 4PM

So you can see that these opening hours are more than a typical small independent pet shop but slightly less than the opening hours of a typical Pets At Home branch.

The location for this particular store is:

Unit 1
Winwick Road
Warrington
WA2 8HQ

Their phone number is listed as 01925 917010. If you would like to find out more you should visit their website, link below:

Some Differences Between Jollyes & Pets At Home

Whilst it seems pretty obvious that Jollyes is targeting the same sort of customer as Pets At Home there are a few differences between these two large chain stores. One of the most obvious differences is that Jollyes do not sell live animals. They recently took a decision to stop selling live animals. Pets At Home on the other hand still sells small mammals like rabbits and guinea pigs. They also sell some fish.

In terms of pricing it seems Jollyes is slightly cheaper than Pets At Home when comparing a typical basket of goods. It’s by no means across the board cheaper though so I would advise you do your own research on prices for the sorts of things you typically buy to compare. Both seem to have their own loyalty schemes as well, the Jollyes one is known as Jollyes PetCLUB. Every pound spent earns 10 points and for every 1000 points customers get a £2.00 voucher. Customers also get 500 points for joining the club. Points remain valid for 18 months.

I’m not sure if the decision to stop selling live animals was on ethical grounds but the decision has certainly been welcomed by a number of pet charities who would prefer that people adopt pets from rescues. It seems that Jollyes has decided to use the extra space to increase their raw food offering. They certainly seem to sell a greater range of raw food than the typical pet shop and more than I’ve noticed in the average Pets At Home store. Those who prefer to feed their pets a raw diet will probably like what Jollyes has to offer though I suspect many pet owners get their raw food online or from a dedicated raw food shop.

Both Jollyes and Pets At Home have an online offering for those who prefer to buy online and have things delivered. In terms of the number of branches, Jollyes now has over 100 branches across the UK. This is far below Pets At Home that has over 450 branches. In many areas of the UK though you will now find a Jollyes branch and chances are that it’s only been open a few years since they seem to be trying to expand quickly.

Jollyes Warrington Reviews

When looking at reviews for Jollyes Warrington branch they seem to be very positive on the whole. Lots of people mention how friendly and helpful the staff were. It seems customers like how well laid out the store is and they appreciate the variety of products stocked. A few reviews also made positive comments about the prices which would seem to support the suggestion that Jollyes are trying to be competitive in the market.

If you are a customer of Jollyes feel free to leave a comment about your experience. Are they perhaps one of your favourite pet shops?
