White Cross Vets Sale Manchester

White Cross Vets Sale

In another of our articles looking at some of the local vet options in Manchester I thought I would write about White Cross Vets Sale. White Cross Vets is a rather large chain of vets with 21 branches in both the North of England and the Midlands.

The company has a very interesting history going back about 100 years. It was started by a woman called Christine Woods at a time when it was very rare to have any female vets. For those interested in the company history you can read more on their website

White Cross Vets History

For the purposes of this article though I will focus on the Sale branch. Manchester actually has 3 branches of White Cross Vets, the other two located in Hyde and Worsley.

White Cross Vets Sale Opening Times and Location

If you are a new pet owner looking for a vet or you have recently moved into the South West part of Manchester and have existing pets, White Cross Vets might be one of the local vets on your shortlist. When deciding on what vet to register with most people consider a number of factors. Such factors could include typical prices, customer reviews or even the opening hours. When looking at the opening hours for White Cross Vets Sale their opening hours relatively long during the week, though they are closed at weekends. The stated opening hours are listed as follows:

Monday – Friday 8:30AM-7:00PM
Saturday and Sunday – Closed

In terms of their exact location the address is:

147 Cross Street
Sale
Manchester M33 7JW

Those familar with the area will know that Cross Street is a rather busy road. Luckily for customers White Cross Vets Sale does have free parking at the rear of their building which they share with the Co-op supermarket next door.

So how do these opening hours compare with other vets in this part of Manchester? Generally speaking White Cross Vets Sale are open for longer during the week than most other local vets. Some other local vets seem to be open on a Saturday but usually only for a few hours in the morning. Indeed the closest vets to White Cross Vets seem to be niche vets, namely Ashleigh Veterinary Centre for Cats only and Dogwood Referrals (where your existing vet may refer you for some specialist types of care). If you are looking for a vet with decent opening times at weekends you will probably find a branch of Vets for Pets is your best choice, often located within branches of Pets At Home. The Altrincham branch would seem the most logical option if you live in this area but there are a number of other branches in Manchester. If you are registered with White Cross Vets Sale and need urgent care outside their opening hours they refer you to Vets Now Manchester in the Whitefield area of Manchester. Indeed all 3 Manchester branches of White Cross Vets use the same out of hours vet.

White Cross Vets Sale – Reviews

At the time of writing the Sale branch of White Cross Vets had a Google rating of 4.8 out of 5 from a total of 209 reviews. Most vets seem to score between 4.3 and 4.9 so White Cross Vets Sale seem to be at the higher end of this scale.

In looking at the reviews in more detail it’s apparent that customers have lots of positive things to say about the staff, from the receptionists to the actual vets themselves. I also noticed that a few customers mentioned that White Cross Vets Sale was cheaper than other vets they had used. If I was basing my decision on reviews alone, White Cross Vets Sale would very much be a vet I would consider for my own pets.
